Paris Hilton goes to jail June 5, 2007

There’s finally goodness in the world. Paris Hilton is now going to the “big house” and we’re not talking home to her mansion either! After violating her probation a judge has sentenced her to 45 days in jail. If you ask me it’s not quite long enough, but it’s a start. I’m tired of seeing so many celebrities getting star treatment in court. They get slapped on the hand and ordered to pay fines or bails that are a drop in the bucket for them to pay and continue doing the same things over and over again.

Meanwhile, in the real world…normal citizens are doing real jail terms and fines that in most cases are extremely difficult for the individual to pay.

Why should they be exempt from the same laws we are all held to? Well this time the judicial system wised up to the Paris Hilton shenanigans. She will be serving 45 days in prison with only two clean pairs of underwear per week, (not G-Strings) one 5 minute shower a day, and none of her pretty sparkly makeup. That’s right NO VANITY ALLOWED!!!

When Paris’ mom heard the sentence she became unruly laughing and making outbursts like “You’re pathetic” and “May I have your autograph?” Later in interviews Kathy Hilton claimed that the sentence was pathetic and a waste of taxpayer $. She also was surprised that Paris would be sentenced to jail “after all the money we spent.”

Originally Paris was put on probation for reckless driving on Sept. 7, 2006 in Hollywood. The associated press reports that “Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.” She was then sentenced to 36 months probation, an alcohol education program and $1,500 in fines.

Since then, there have been two other traffic stops and she’s failed to enroll in her mandated alcohol education program. On Jan. 15, 2007 Paris Hilton was pulled over by CHP and learned she was driving on a suspended license, and signed a document acknowledging the fact that she was NOT to drive. Then on Feb. 27, 2007 LA County Sheriffs pulled her over and charged her with violating her probation. The associated press also reports that, “Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.”

Now if that doesn’t sound like a guilty person I don’t know what does! Hollywood expects to get away with everything because of their $ and their status, but it’s refreshing to see that they too at times have to adhere to the laws the rest of us are held so close by.

Now her fans have started a petition to Arnold Schwarzenegger to try to get her pardon. Come on people, time to get real. If you did what she did you’d be jailed a long time ago. She’s getting her due punishment for her actions. You do the crime you do the time!

The sad part is she’ll probably have it easy in jail. Even though she’ll be in a small cell without all of her $100 beauty products and $1000 clothes and ugly mutt, she’ll probably be separated from the regular population because of her status.

For the queen of mean in Hollywood, it’s Paris’ turn to get served…and she served herself! Note to Paris: On June 5, leave your cell phone at home!
